Albatros C.XII

The Albatros C.XII was a German military plane that was used in the First World War.

The 1917, Albatros C XII should replace the CX and was the first pattern of the C- series, was significantly deviated from the previous design scheme in which. Striking was the elliptical shape of the hull, which you took over from the hunters in the D series. With a large propeller spinner, the aerodynamic shape was rounded. The tail unit has been completely redesigned and had compared to its predecessors a significantly smaller tailplane and a triangular fin to accommodate the grinding spur. Wings, chassis and engine, however, were taken directly from the C XII with only minor changes. Overall, however, was compared to the CX virtually no performance improvement can be achieved, which is probably mainly was due to the unfavorable designed wing design. Nevertheless, the C XII was introduced at the front-line units, where they flew until the war ended.
