Albert Kluyver

Albert Jan Kluyver ( born June 3, 1888 in Breda, † 14 May 1956) was a Dutch microbiologist and biochemist.

Kluyver was from 1922 to 1956 Professor of General and Applied Microbiology at the Technical University of Delft. He belonged to the Delft School of microbiology.

In 1953 he was awarded the Copley Medal.

The Kluyver effect was named after him.
