Alcover

Alcover is a Catalan municipality in the province of Tarragona, in northeastern Spain. It is located in the comarca of Alt Camp.

Geographical location

Alcover is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Tarragona. The river flows through the district Francolí. The municipality is situated at approximately 243 meters above sea level at the foot of the mountain range La Mussarra and has 5142 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Worth seeing

Historic town with the remains of the medieval walls. Ruins of monumental Romanesque church " Esglesia Vella " from the 12th century. Arcaded square. Town Hall from the 16th century.
