Alexander Sergeyevich Sokolov (Russian: Александр Сергеевич Соколов, English transcription: Alexander Sergeevich Sokolov, born March 1, 1982 in Kolomna ) is a Russian volleyball player.

Career

Sokolow began his career in 1998 at Spartak Moscow. The following year he was junior world champion with the Russian junior. 2000 was followed by the title at the European Championships. Subsequently, the Libero joined Neftjanik Yaroslavl. 2001 reached the Russian Junior Final World Championship. On July 27, 2002 Sokolow was at the World League match against Germany in Dusseldorf his debut in the senior team. In 2009 he went to Fakel Novy Urengoy. 2011 returned the Libero after eight years break back into the national team, with whom he won both the World League and the World Cup. In 2012 he was in London Olympic champion.
