Aleksey Yufkin

Alexei Nikolaevich Jufkin (Russian Алексей Николаевич Юфкин; born 11 January 1986) is a Russian weightlifter. He was European champion in 2009 and 2010 Vice World Champion in a battle of light heavyweight

Career

Alexei Jufkin appeared at the Junior European Championship (U 17), 2003 in Dortmund for the first time on the international stage weightlifting and finished there in lightweight with 282.5 kg ( 125 to 157.5 ) 2nd place. In 2005 and 2006 he took part in three other international Junior Championships and won a medal at all in single combat. The greatest success he managed it in 2006, when he was in Palermo Junior European Champion ( U-20 ) in a duel of the middleweight. His achievements at that time amounted to 155 kg in the snatch and 185 kg in the thrusting, so 340 kg in the total.

In 2008 he started for the first time at an international championship in the seniors. At the European Championships in Lignano he came here in the middleweight 355 kg in behind his compatriot Oleg Perepetschenow, 362 kg ( 164-198 ) and Ara Khachatrjan from Armenia, 361 kg ( 165-196 ) on the 3rd place. In thrusting he was even European champions with 200 kg. At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, he was not used.

In 2009 he moved to the light heavyweight division and achieved in February 2009 in a national competition in Vladikavkaz in this weight class 370 kg ( 165-205 ). He was then employed at the European Championships this year in Bucharest and reached there in the light heavyweight division in a duel 369 kg ( 164-205 ), with whom he before Intigam Zairow, Azerbaijan, 368 kg ( 168-200 ) and Mikalai Novikau, Belarus, 367 kg ( 166-201 ), became European Champion. In addition, he was also in pushing European champions.

Alexei Jufkin was injured in the aftermath a few times and could not attend the Russian Championships in 2009 and 2010 and also at the 2009 World Cup and the European Championship 2010. Recovered, he was in 2010 at the World Championships in Antalya at the start again and stood there in excellent form. He scored 172 kg in the snatch and 208 kg in the jerk and failed in his third attempt 212 kg shock just barely, with whom he would have a duel champion. With a capacity of 380 kg in the total but he was vice-champion.

In 2011 he was in Kazan 385 kg ( 170-215 ) again European Champion Light heavyweight and won also in collision with 215 kg for the title. Second place went to the duel his compatriot Apti Auchadow who also brought 385 kg ( 173-212 ) to the high route, but it was something serious.
