Álex Calatrava

Álex Calatrava Patricio ( born June 14, 1973 in Cologne ) is a former Spanish tennis player.

Life and career

Calatrava has won five titles on the second-rate Challenger Tour, including three in singles and two in doubles. On the ATP Tour, he won the tournament against Sergi Bruguera of San Marino in 2000. In addition, he was in Casablanca in 1998 and 2000 in Delray Beach in the final. Also in double he reached an ATP final, 1999, he was defeated in Kitzbühel on the side of Dušan Vemic in three sets Chris Haggard and Peter Nyborg. At Grand Slam tournaments in 2001 he succeeded in Melbourne the way into the third round of the individual competition, its best result. In doubles, he moved in 2005 also in Melbourne from last sixteen.

His highest ranking in singles, he reached on 12 February 2001 with rank 44, in a double on 10 October 2005 with rank 110
