Alex Harris (basketball)

Cory Alexander "Alex" Harris ( born January 30, 1986 in Mission Viejo, California) is an American professional basketball player. After studying in his native Harris played professionally for two years in the Polish Tauron League, before he moved to Germany and since 2010 playing in the National Basketball League. From the 2013/2014 season he will play for the WALTER Tigers Tübingen. Previously, he played in the 2012/13 season for polar bears Bremerhaven.

Career

After high school, where he won the state championship with the basketball team at St. Joseph Notre Dame, Harris remained in California and went in 2004 to study at the University of California, Santa Barbara, whose high school team Gauchos play in the Big West Conference of the NCAA. While the women's team the Gauchos record winner of the Big West Conference, the men's team was able to Harris during active time not win a Conference title and also missed qualifying for the NCAA national finals. At the end of his four-year collegiate career Harris was the most successful scorer in the history of college team with 1,696 points.

2008 Harris began a career as a professional, which initially led him into the top flight after PLK Poland. With PGE Turow Zgorzelec he brought out in 2009 for the third consecutive year, the runner-up behind series champion Prokom Sopot. He then played for league rivals Energa Czarni from Slupsk, who had lost the semifinal series of the Championship play-off against Turow. Czarni 2010 reached only the eighth place after the main round and was eliminated in the first round of the play -offs against Asseco Prokom from defending champion. For the Basketball Bundesliga 2010/11 Harris was then obliged by the German first division from Ludwigsburg. This missed the end of the season once again a place in the play-offs for the German championship, but only very slightly due to the poorer direct comparison against the polar bear from Bremerhaven. After a disappointing Basketball League 2011/12, in Ludwigsburg only just reached the league, Harris moved to the polar bears, which in turn had now also missed the play-off collection.

After the 2012/13 season, Harris signed a one-year contract with the Tigers Tübingen for the 2013/14 season. There he is again with a former teammate from Ludwigsburg days, the basketball player Johannes Lischka, standing together in a team.
