Alex Reece

Alex Reece (* in London when Alexander Charles Ernest Reece ) is a British DJ and producer in the genre Jazz Step, the jazzy version of drum and bass.

Inspired by acid house and Detroit techno of the late 1980s Reece began DJing. In 1992 he became engineer at the Jungle producer Jack Smooth. Reece dabbled in house production, but then moved on to drum and bass. In the 1990s, he published the following labels: Sinister, Creative Wax, and Moving Shadow, but the greatest notoriety he achieved as a member of the Metalheadz collective. The tracks Basic Principles and especially Pulp Fiction were Jungle standards. More singles and his debut album So Far, which he could brought out from 1996 to the Mayor sublabel Iceland Records but recorded no significant successes more.
