Alexander Axén

Alexander Axén (* October 15, 1970 ) is a former Swedish football player. Meanwhile, working as a coach, he has worked particularly in the Allsvenskan.

Career

Axén grew up in Örebro and began playing football at Örebro SK. In the men's field, he ran for Rynninge IK and BK Forward to in unterklassigen area, for the latter, he played for a time in the second division.

After his retirement in 2000 Axén took over as coach at Rynninge IK. With the third division he reached first top places in the league, in 2002 the team with five points behind runner- BK Forward Division 2 Västra Svealand was. 2004 Axén increased with the club from the fourth league and managed there as a relay winners qualifying for the new, fourth-rate now Division 2 Västra Svealand.

2007 Axén went to Norway in the Tippeligaen to preserve with his compatriot Benny Lennartsson IK Start from relegation. When the company had failed, he returned to Sweden and was engaged from his youth club Örebro SK in the 2008 as assistant coach of the newly committed Sixten Boström.

In December 2008, GAIS was the obligation AXENS as new head coach known after the previous coach Magnus Pehrsson had left the club in the direction of Aalborg BK. At the Gothenburg club he signed a three-year contract. Under his leadership, the team reached the rear mid-table first placed twice in the league before they surprised in the 2011, and at times played along for a spot in the European Cup. Consequently, the club extended his contract in September 2011. On 22 July 2012, he resigned at his own request, the former assistant coach Kjell Pettersson took over in the wake interim basis, its tasks.
