Alexander Brouwer

Alexander Brouwer ( born November 3, 1989 in Leiden) is a Dutch beach volleyball player.

Career

Brouwer was 2006 Pelle Klein in Bermuda ninth of the World Junior Championship and repeated the result a year later in Mysłowice with his new partner Christiaan Varenhorst. At the Junior World Championships in 2008 in Brighton, the two Dutch reached the final and 2009 in Blackpool, they were fifth. 2010 Brouwer played with Emiel Boersma some of the FIVB World Tour Grand Slam without achieving top rankings. Since 2011 he formed a duo with Robert Meeuwsen. Brouwer / Meeuwsen achieved in the first year together, the 17th at the Brasília Open and some top places in Satellite and Masters tournaments, including a tournament win in Vaduz. At the European Championships in Kristiansand, they reached as group winners the knockout phase, and finally in the quarter- final against the Germans Erdmann / Matysik from. A year later, they met again at the European Championships in Scheveningen to the quarter finals and were subject to the poles there Kądzioła / Szalankiewicz. As the Ninth Grand Slam in Gstaad, and Klagenfurt they managed their first top ten results on the World Tour. 2013, it was the fifth Fuzhou Open and well-documented in four Grand Slams in a row in ninth place. In the preliminary round World Cup in Stare Jabłonki they came as one of the best third in the next round. They gave the following four games from only one set and eventually won by a 2-0 win against the Brazilians Ricardo Santos and Álvaro Morais Filho the title.
