Alexandra Cadanțu

Alexandra Cadantu (born 3 May 1990 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian tennis player.

Biography

Alexandra Cadantu began at the age of three years playing tennis, inspired by her father, who has operated the sport as a hobby. She loves to play on sand; on this surface, it has so far won all their titles.

At 15, she played her first tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit. Following only modest successes considered the then 18 -year-old in 2008 her retirement from professional tennis. She applied for a scholarship in the USA. However, with the victory in a tournament in Bucharest they could attract new sponsors for themselves.

Career

2006 succeeded Cadantu the first success on the ITF level, as she defeated her compatriot Irina -Camelia Begu at a small tournament in Bucharest.

In the fall of 2010, the rise of the Romanian started when she reached the final in several ITF tournaments and during the year won a total of five titles.

2011 was a successful year for Cadantu. She arrived at ITF tournaments another five finals and was the highest prize in the Italian Biella with a 6-4 -, 6-3 final win over the Colombian Mariana Duque Mariño decide for themselves. In October, she managed at the WTA tournament in Luxembourg for the first time to qualify for a main field on the WTA Tour. In the first round she defeated Anastasia Yakimova of Belarus 6-1, 6-4 before she Lucie Hradecká was beaten 3:6, 4:6 itself.
