Alexi Murdoch

Alexi Murdoch (* December 27, 1973 in London) is a Scottish singer-songwriter.

Life

Murdoch's father is Greek, his mother has Scottish ancestry. He spent his youth in Greece, before returning with his family to Scotland.

Work

His music is a blend of alternative rock, acoustic and indie folk. He moved to the U.S. to study at Duke University philosophy.

His 2002 self-released EP Four Songs was the best-selling record in the online music service "CD Baby". On 6 June 2006, his first album Time Without Consequence appeared.

One of his most famous songs is orange sky. This has been used in many films and series, including The OC, House MD, Prison Break, Ugly Betty, The Fire, Garden State and a trailer for Paradise Now. The songs, Breathe ( Stargate Universe ), All My Days ( The OC, Scrubs - The Beginners, Without a Trace, Real Steel, and also in Stargate Universe ), Home ( Prison Break ), the text on the famous children's song Row, Row, Row Your Boat -based, and Wait ( Defying Gravity ) were used in series.

During the credits of Gone Baby Gone Murdoch's song Through the Dark in progress. To the soundtrack of the movie Away We Go by Sam Mendes, it controls alongside previously unreleased tracks on Songs from his album Time Without Consequence.
