Alexis Ruano Delgado

Alexis Ruano Delgado (* August 4, 1985 in Málaga ), short- Alexis, is a Spanish footballer who plays for Getafe. It is used mainly as a central defender.

Career

Alexis Ruano Delgado's professional career began in 2001 in the B- team of his home club FC Malaga. After 50 games, he was appointed to the first team in 2003, for up to the 2006/07 season in the Primera División he (Spain) and, after relegation at the end of the 2005/06 season in the Segunda División played 50 games.

For the season 2006/ 07 the first division side Getafe took him for 2.5 million euros under contract. Under the German coach Bernd Schuster, he developed the following season to one of Spain's best central defender. This led to his selection in the Team of the Year.

The team dropped to just 33 goals conceded in 38 games, Alexis Ruano Delgado scored the winning goal to make it 1-0 in the derby against local rivals Real Madrid on 14 October 2006. This meant that at the end of the season some big clubs in Europe on him were attentive. The AC Milan, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Valencia CF publicly expressed interest in the defender.

Already in April 2007 announced Delagado that he would play for the 2007 /08 season for FC Valencia. His new contract runs until the summer of 2013, the transfer fee was € 6,000,000. In the first season for Valencia he succeeded, although not the final breakthrough, yet he wore the deficit to 2-0 ( 11 minutes ) in the Copa del Rey final against his former club Getafe on 16 April 2008 to win the title of Valencia with.

End of August 2010 signed a five -year contract with Alexis FC Sevilla, who signed him for a transfer fee of € 5 million.

In February 2012, he was loaned to Getafe.
