Alfredo Shahanga

Alfredo Shahanga ( born April 14, 1965) is a former Tanzanian long distance runner who was especially successful in the marathon.

In 1987, he finished fourth at the Houston Marathon and second in the Vienna Spring Marathon. Latter he won in 1989 in 2:10:29 h as well as the Berlin Marathon, in which he set his personal best of 2:10:11 hours. In 1990 he was fourth at the Hamburg Marathon, winning in the 25 km from Berlin in 1:15:09 h

In 1991 he finished the London Marathon in sixth place and began the marathon of the World Championships in Athletics in Tokyo, did not reach there but the destination. In 1993, he was found as fourth in Berlin for the last time on the front ranks of a major marathon.

Alfredo Shahanga had a competition weight of 57 kg at a height of 1.70 m. His older brother Gidamis Shahanga was also a successful long distance runner.
