Alfredo Tena

Alfredo Tena Garduño ( born November 21, 1956 in Mexico City), also known by the nickname Capitán Furia, is a former Mexican football player who acted usually in the position of central defender. After his retirement he worked as a football coach. He is the father of the currently active footballer Alfredo Omar Tena. His younger by a little more than a year brother Luis Fernando Tena was in the 1970s and 1980s also active as a football player and brought it to more than 300 appearances in the highest Mexican soccer league.

Between 1977 and 1990, Alfredo Tena graduated a total of 30 international appearances for the Mexican national soccer team. He belonged to the Mexican World Cup squad in 1978, where he worked in the group matches against Germany ( 0:6 ) and Poland (1:3) participated.

His international debut was on February 1, 1977 a two- minute appearance in a friendly against Yugoslavia ( 5-1 ).
