Ali Eid

Ali Youssef Eid (* July 14, 1940 in Tabbaneh in Tripoli, Great Lebanon) is a Lebanese politician and leader of the Alawite community. He has his Alma Mater at the American University of Beirut in political science and public administration.

In 1991 he was appointed parliamentary candidates for the electoral district of Tripoli, before in 1992 he took up his post as first Alawite MPs in the parliamentary elections in Lebanon. He was defeated in the elections of 1996, 2000 and 2005.

Ali Eid 1972 was the founder of a political party, the Arab Democratic Party (French le Parti démocrate arabe ), which was expanded in 1974 by Rifaat al -Assad to an armed militia.

During the civil war oath and his party were prosyrisch. He leaned in a little to Damascus, without the anti-Syrian opposition to come in the mid- 1990s on the head, as the Syrian occupying power preferred him as a suitable rival for the deputation. He is married to Fatat Marouch and has given me the children Youssef, Alissar, Rifaat, Zoulficar (1978-1989), Noureddine, Mohsen, Lubna, Issa and Zoulficar (* 1990).
