Alla fiera dell'est is the third music album of Angelo Branduardi Alla fiera on his hit appeared dell'est. The album was released in 1976 as an LP and his wife Luisa Zappa, his daughter Sarah and his dog Rufon dedicated. The text of the title song comes from the Yiddish Passover song Chad Gadja. Sotto il tiglio is written after the song Under the linden of Walther von der Vogelweide. He also sings about his daughter and takes a musical phrase from the Celtic song Henry Martin for his song Il funerale.

The album was released in 1978 and in English under the title Highdown Fair and in French as A la foire del 'est.

In Germany, the album was released due to new contracts Branduardis with Ariola. Due to poor results of cooperation with RCA Branduardi was in fact switched to Polydor and outside Italy to Ariola and Arabella Euro disc. In Italy the album with a black and white photo booklet and lyrics appeared in other European countries, including Germany, with a simpler and thus cheaper gatefold cover.

EMI released the CD with the Italian original cover, but on which the lyrics are hard to read without a magnifying glass.
