Allan King

Allan Winton King ( born February 6, 1930 in Vancouver, † June 15, 2009 in Toronto ) was a Canadian film director.

Life

King turned to after high school and the study of philosophy to the documentary and was later a representative of cinéma vérité. His film Warrendale 1967 showed images from a home for mentally ill children. He was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, while the mitproduzierende Canadian Broadcasting Corporation rejected an appeal. He also received an award from the British Academy Film Awards. His next film A married couple (1969 ) followed the path of a married couple up in divorce.

In his more than forty -year career, David worked for various media in all areas of film art; also series episodes and movies were among them, so Who has seen the wind, which was awarded not only with the price of the Paris Film Festival, but also the hitherto financially successful Canadian film was. 2006 King was appointed Officer of the Order of Canada.
