Everything but murder was a German crime series, which was developed from an idea by Michael Baier and was broadcast on the private TV station ProSieben. Produced the series of the new German film company ( ndF ).

In everything but murder of the often somewhat clumsy private detective Uli spruce determined (Dieter Landuris ) in various criminal cases. In the sales order, he does: " I do everything - except murder ".

The unsound spruce lives in an aged industrial building in the Port of Hamburg and drives an old Mercedes -Benz. The bourgeois opposite side form the psychologist Dr. Frieder Tamm, his wife Melanie and their two sons and the journalist Horst Weinstein. And contrary to its motto gets spruce every time to do it with a murder, although this is not yet apparent at the beginning; a seemingly harmless and easily stored case turns out to be in the course of the following as a murder case.

Although the series has been extremely successful at the time, received excellent reviews and was loved by the audience ( huge audience ), ProSieben produced very few results. So between 1993 and 1995 only three seasons were produced with a total of 14 episodes. Despite good rates 1996 series from ProSieben was deposed.

In early 2008, the series was released as a DVD set. Includes all 14 episodes on 7 DVDs.
