Jasmin Tabatabai

Jasmin Tabatabai (Persian یاسمین طباطبائی [ jɔ smi ː ː ː n tæbɔ tæbɔ ː ː i ]; born June 8, 1967 in Tehran ) is an Iranian-German actress and musician.

Life

Tabatabai's father was Iranian, her mother is from Germany. They met in 1956 know at the Munich Oktoberfest. From 1958 to 1979, the family lived in Tehran, where Jasmin Tabatabai attended the German School. During the Islamic Revolution, the family left the country. The father returned after a year in Germany to Iran, where he died in 1986. Jasmin Tabatabai has both citizenships.

After graduation in 1986, Jasmin Tabatabai studied at the Academy of Music and Arts in Stuttgart music and drama.

Jasmin Tabatabai was married to the American musician Tico Zamora since 1 June 2003 and has been with him since 3 December 2002 daughter. She also works as a composer and singer. In 1993 she founded the band Even Cowgirls Get The Blues, with whom she released three albums and from which they separated in 1997. In 2001, she founded the record label Polytrash. In the spring of 2002, she released her first solo album titled Only Love. Composed for the American feature film Iron Jawed Angels by Katja von Garnier and sang five songs together with her then husband, the American musician Tico Zamora.
