Aloysius Gottifredi

Alessandro Luigi Gottifredi (also: Aloysius Gottifredi ) ( May 3, 1595 Rome, † March 12, 1652 ibid ) was the 9th General of the Society of Jesus.

Life

Gottifredi joined 1610 the Society of Jesus, Paul V. was his godfather before he became pope. He taught philosophy and theology at the Roman College and was regarded as an excellent orator. Like its predecessor, also served Alessandro Luigi Gottifredi he the long-term General of the Order Mutio Vitelleschi as secretary. He also worked as a Visitor of the Neapolitan and Belgium, as well as Provincial of the Roman Province of the Order.
