Old Hagen is a district of Celle. It is located in the northeast area of the city area. Its foundation dates back to 1377.

Description

The place is divided by the leading of Celle to Uelzen Eschede and federal highway 191 in a new industrial area and the original district. In the industrial area is inter alia to the distribution of mail. On the outskirts of Celle railway line passes to Wittingen, the Old Train Station Hagen is used only rarely since the cessation of passenger transport.

The center of the old part is characterized by several agricultural farms and some craft enterprises. There is a nursery school and the local community center of the city of Celle Parish. At the northeastern outskirts of the village there is a large vocational training center with the BBS BBS I and IV (Albrecht -Thaer - school). The form of settlement largely corresponds to that of a Hagen hooves village.

History

On 1 January 1973 Old Hagen was incorporated into the county town of Celle.

Policy

The Ortsrat has shared responsibility for the Celler districts Old Hagen, Bostel and Lachtehausen and has 7 seats (2 CDU, SPD 2, 1 Green, 1 Independent, 1 single applicant ). Local mayor is Gertrud Hachmöller.
