Altencelle is a district of the town of Celle in Lower Saxony, the west and east of the River Aller Fuhse lies southeast of downtown. The place is connected to the B 214 and County Road K 74 with Celle.

History

The current name Altencelle suggests that here formerly the original town of Celle ( charter granted in 1249 ), was the "old Celle ". The place is first mentioned in 986 as " Kellu " ( settlement on the River ).
