Alvin Lee

Career

Early years

Lee came from a musical family. His parents and his sister were playing country music and were observed occasionally as a guitar trio. At the age of twelve he learned the clarinet, a year later, he switched to guitar.

At age 13, he joined the fan club of Elvis Presley, to get to photos of the band guitarist Scotty Moore, with whom he was to occur later together. Lee played in various bands such as The Atomics, Jaymen, Jaybirds, as well as Ivan Jay and the Jaycats from which later the band Ten Years After emerged.
