The Amazon Standard Identification Number (Amazon Standard Identification Number, short ASIN ) is a ten- digit alphanumeric product identification number, which was introduced by the Amazon shipping worldwide.

Use

The ASIN is used especially as an aid to business partners on the Internet that are supported in the Amazon Associates program since 1996, and is in contrast to the ISBN no international standard dar.

Any product that is offered on one of the Amazon sites is given a unique ASIN. For books that have an ISBN, the ASIN corresponds to the old, valid until 2006 ten-digit ISBN.
