América Futebol Clube (RN)

The América Futebol Clube (also América de Natal, in lists usually América -RN ) is a football club based in Natal, the capital of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte. The club colors, founded in 1915 clubs, red and white, and the logo are derived from the same FC America from Rio de Janeiro. The brazil usual mascot is a dragon ( Dragão ). A nickname of the club is derived from América Mecão ( " Great America "). The main rival of the Americas is also from Natal upcoming ABC FC.

History

Just four years after the founding of America 1919 won the first national championship of Rio Grande do Norte. Since then, the club was in every decade in this competition succeed a few times. Between 1979 and 1982, even four times in a row and 1974 undefeated.
