History

The band was founded by Tharen and Thurisaz 1993. Next to them on a regular basis other members of the band Abigor were involved in the recording. The band started their career with the two cassette demos Mysterious Realms ( with Thomas " TT" Tannenberger of Abigor on drums ) and Through the Ages We Preserve ... ( with Hrim as a drummer ). 1996 debuted Amestigon with Napalm Records and played a split CD with the Austrian band also Angizia. The first three songs on this split CD ( Challerian 's case, Samhein, Mysterious Realms ) were recorded with Hrim on drums, the last track ( Stormlord ) with TT. In 1997, the band Infernal Dance dissolved after completion of the mini- CD to personal reasons and because of cast problems.

In 1998, the band continued Tharen; Mr. Wolf joined in the winter of 1998, shortly after Michael completed " Silenius " Gregor ( Abigor, Summoning ) and lance the occupation; Thurisaz left the band and took over vocals and bass in Abigor. The band released in 2000 a promo CD with the title Remembering Ancient Origins with previously unreleased tracks from the years 1995-1999 out. This edition was limited to 100 copies and was published in self-publishing.

Style

The band is often considered a "little brother" of Abigor, as there are both human and stylistic overlap. In the previous publications, a raw guitar sound which emphasizes the treble frequencies is used, together with the notes played on the higher strings melodies results in the characteristic of Amestigon and Abigor shrill sound. The drumming is much more detailed than in the Black Metal usual. For a change, be atmospheric elements such as acoustic guitars, natural samples and clean vocals with built-in. Especially for intros and outros keyboard passages are used, which were recorded by Tharen.

Amestigon play according to Steve Hoeltzel of Chronicles of Chaos on Infernal Dance "Black Metal as it should be, icy, uncomplicated and dark "; he compared the music with the pained and melancholy core of Abigors early recordings. The style is not just unique, but sounded genuine. Also Herjulf from Vönger music magazine compared the title track from hell dance with Abigor. He praised the change between blastbeat Parts and heroic melodies, but also criticized the lack of imagination of some songs and called the Infernal Dance EPs, of which he may only be the title track, and Remembering Ancient Origins as a half-baked mini- CDs; it would, however, " but with a bit more effort from the - Been extract material - in itself not malodor ." Also wrote Florian Dammasch of metal.de, the band was " ABIGOR once not so far musically and ideologically " was.

Over time, the band developed their own style, so the sound was gloomy, on the debut album Sun of All Suns contain the guitars more midrange and bass frequencies: the sound was with the " ultraverhallten transistor orgy of old recordings " no longer much to do, but is nevertheless described as " gruff ". As a highlight of this album, the title track was called his " introverted and intense atmosphere." The band is on their website to have next to the Black Metal and other musical influences; according to the album offers "a lot of semi -acoustic, solos on over clear bass, jiggling synthesizer ambience, choruses, dynamic arrangements, almost percussive employed drums - total for a Black Metal band rather atypical and clearly tending towards doom and post-rock ". Thematically, the album between occultism and " ethics of cruelty, sociopathy and abuse " is located.
