Ancuța Bobocel

Ancuta Bobocel ( born October 3, 1987 in Drobeta Turnu Severin, Mehedinţi circle ) is a Romanian track and field athlete who specializes in the steeplechase.

Early on, she pointed at junior level up. At the Junior European Championships 2003 in Tampere, she won the silver medal in the 2000 meters steeplechase at the age of only 15 years. The following year she was in both the junior race at the Cross Country Championships in Heringsdorf and in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Junior World Championships in Grosetto second. 2005 she succeeded at the European Cross Country Championships in Tilburg even the victory in the junior race. She also won silver medals in the steeplechase at the Junior World Championships in 2006 in Beijing and at the Track U23 European Championships 2007 in Debrecen.

At the European Indoor Championships 2007 in Birmingham Bobocel first appeared on the international adult area. In the 3000 - meter race she finished eleventh place. However, they dropped out at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka and at the Olympic Games in Beijing in the first round in the obstacle course. At the European Indoor Championships 2009 in Turin it was over 3000 m Eighth. In the same year they missed at the World Championships in Berlin the finals in the steeplechase.

Bobocel 2008 was Romanian champion and 2009 runner-up behind Cristina Casandra in the obstacle course.

Ancuta Bobocel is 1,65 m tall and has a competition weight of 49 kg. She started first for the CSA Turnu Severin and later for the Athletics Department of Dinamo Bucharest.
