Andilly, Val-d'Oise

Andilly is a commune with 2520 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Val- d'Oise of the Ile- de -France region; it belongs to Arrondissement Sarcelles and Canton Soisy -sous- Montmorency. The inhabitants " Andillois " or " Andilloises " call themselves.

History

The place is first mentioned in 1125 in a document that specifies the landlord Baudoin d' Andiliacum. In the 16th century Andilly was bought by Antoine Arnauld. His son Robert Arnauld d' Andilly was a founder of Jansenism, he was persecuted under Louis XIV why.
