André Bikey (2009)

André Stéphane Bikey - Amougou ( born January 8, 1985 in Douala ) is a Cameroonian football player.

Club career

Bikey began his professional career with the Spanish club Espanyol, but could not prevail and there was no duty stake for the first team. In 2005 he moved to Russian club Schinnik Yaroslavl, where immediately the national top club Lokomotiv Moscow was aware of him and took him on 1 July 2005 under contract.

Also in the Russian capital club to Bikey could not prevail finally, and he graduated - after he was exposed in the Russian league by opposing fans often racial slurs - with the English club Reading in 2006 a trial during pre-season in Sweden. There he convinced the head coach Steve Coppell although Bikey after a head butt against his opponent saw the red card in the final preseason game against Örgryte IS. Reading then agreed with Lokomotiv Moscow players for a year to rent with an option to buy the player at the end of the loan period.

Bikey expressed in February 2007, the desire for a more extensive commitment, this was met him in April and Reading announced the signing of a three-year contract. In Moscow it had to be paid a fee of one million pounds.

His first league goal for Reading Bikey succeeded in August 2007 in the 1-2 home defeat against Chelsea.

National team career

Bikey represented Cameroon at international level. He graduated at the African Cup of Nations 2006, three games in which he was discovered by Reading, and was in 2008 in the squad of the Indomitable Lions. His only goal in the jersey of the national team scored Bikey 8 June 2008 in a 3-0 away win against Mauritius in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
