Andrea Barlesi

Andrea Barlesi ( born June 15, 1991, Paris, France) is an Italian- Belgian racing driver. He will start in 2012 in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC).

Career

Barlesi began his motorsport career in 2005 in karting, where he was active until 2008. In 2009 he joined the touring car racing and participated in the French Renault Clio Cup. 2010 moved Barlesi in endurance racing and entered for DAMS in the FLM class of the Le Mans Series. He won a race and was with Gary Chalandon overall winner of this championship. In 2011 he took part in five races of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup. He started for OAK Racing in the LMP2 class. His best finish was a third place in the LMP2 class. In addition, he took part in a race in the Blancpain Endurance Series.

2012 returned Barlesi back in touring car racing. He received a cockpit in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC) at SUNRED Engineering. Since not enough current motors for the SEAT León were available, he started in the season opener with an older SEAT diesel engine. The second event, he received the recent SUNRED - 1.6T engine, which had been originally but already sorted out. After the second race weekend is a 15th place his best result.

Nationality

Barlesi has both the Italian and the Belgian nationality. In motor sport, he takes with Belgian license.
