Andrea Longo

Andrea Longo ( born June 26, 1975 in Piove di Sacco, Padova ) is an Italian middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 - meter track.

The fifth at the Indoor Athletics European Championships in 1996 and European U23 champion from 1997 was about 800 m 1997 national champion in the hall and from 1998 to 2000 and 2005 outdoors. Over 1500 m, it was 2004 and 2005 Italian Hall Master.

At the World Athletics Championships 1997 in Athens, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The European Athletics Championships 1998 in Budapest, he was seventh and at the 1999 World Championships in Seville sixth. In the final of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, he was disqualified because he had André Bucher jostled.

He tested positive during a doping control for nandrolone and blocked due to violation of the doping regulations for two years in 2001.

In 2003 he finished fifth at the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis, and in 2004 he reached at the Olympic Games in Athens in the semifinals. In 2006 he finished seventh at the European Championships in Gothenburg.

Andrea Longo is 1.91 m and weighs 82 kg. He starts for Fiamme Oro and is coached by Fabio Scapin. Since 2005, he is married to the French sprinter Fabe Dia.
