Andreas Brandhorst

Andreas Brandhorst ( born May 26, 1956 in Sielhorst, Rahden ) is Translator and German fantasy and science fiction author. He also writes under the pseudonyms of Thomas Lockwood, Robert Lamont, Horst Brand, Andreas Werning and Andreas Weiler.

Andreas Brandhorst, who was originally an industrial clerk by profession, is best known for his novels about the Kantaki universe and as a writer for the series The Terranauten. Also for Perry Rhodan he wrote two paperbacks. In the late 1980s and 1990s, he worked primarily as a translator. Among the most famous of his translations include the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett and novels from the Star Trek series.

His short story The plankton Fischer was awarded the 1983 Kurd - Laßwitz Prize, his novel The artifact of 2013 with the German science fiction price.

Andreas Brandhorst lived long in Melle and now as a freelance writer and translator in northern Italy. He was married twice and has two children.
