Andreas Kunstein

Andreas Kunstein ( born June 25, 1967 in Brühl) is a Dutch- German composer.

Work

Kunstein studied after school first history and philosophy in Dusseldorf and received during this time private composition lessons with David Graham and Ratko Delorko. From 1992 to 1998 he studied with Wolfgang Hufschmidt at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, then until 2002 at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Peter -Jan Wagemans and Klaas de Vries. He has participated in master classes with, among others, Manfred Trojahn, Edison Denisov and George Crumb.

1998 Kunstein received a scholarship from the Foundation Otmar Alt and 2003, a grant from the Cultural Fund Foundation for the Künstlerhaus Lukas.

In the center of his previous work are his epigrams. This sequence of miniatures wrote Andreas Kunstein 1993 first kids piano (Bernd Wiese man dedicated ), revised and extended it later but still for many other occupations (for example: piano, organ, string quartet, brass quintet, symphony orchestra ).

Art One 13 epigrams for orchestra 2000 were nominated for the Nederlandse Prijs voor Jonge composer ( Dutch prize for young composers ). His 10 epigrams kids piano, played by Bernd Wiese man, appeared on CD at Liebermann ( SST 31112 ) and its 10 epigrams for piano, played by Ratko Delorko, on the CD " NCC 8007 ".

Kunstein now lives (2006) in Rotterdam.
