Andrei Romanov (racing driver)

Andrei Romanov (Russian Андрей Романов; * July 10, 1979 in Moscow ) is a Russian auto racing driver.

Career

Romanov began his motorsport career in 2003 with a VW Polo in Light of the Russian Touring Car Championship. A year later, he joined the Russian Lada Cup, he finished on the 18th Place and in the following year 2004 to sixth place. In 2006 he took part with a Honda Civic Type R on the Russian Touring Car Championship, in which he reached the 18 championship course. In parallel, he took part in the Russian Honda Civic Cup, where he was twelfth. He also started in the same year in a Citroën Saxo VTS for the first time at one of the ADAC Procar Series race.

2007 moved Romanov now for a complete season in the ADAC Procar Series and joined with a BMW 320i of the team Engstler Motorsport. He achieved second place in the overall standings. At the season finale in Macau, he made ​​his first appearance in the World Touring Car Championship. In 2008 he played for Engstler Motorsport, now in his BMW 320si, a full season in the World Touring Car Championship, finishing in fifth place in the Independents' Trophy. 2009 was followed again inserts in the ADAC Procar Series. He walked with a Chevrolet Lacetti team Maurer Motorsport at the start, reaching won three races and sixth overall. 2010 Romanoff returned to Engstler Motorsport back in the World Touring Car Championship.
