Andrew Austen Luck ( born September 12, 1989 in Washington, DC) is an American professional American football player at the position of quarterback. He plays for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League ( NFL). Andrew Luck is the son of former NFL quarterback Oliver Luck, who played for the Houston Oilers in the NFL from 1982 to 1986.

High School

Luck attended Stratford High School in Houston, Texas. He threw passes for a room gain of 7,139 yards and 53 touchdowns. In addition, he scored 2,085 rushing yards. After high school, Luck went to the University of Stanford, where at that time the later 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh was the coach. Harbaugh convinced Luck to go to Stanford and thus to decide against numerous other universities, such as the Oklahoma State University or the University of Virginia.

College

In his first season (2008) Luck was only the second man behind starting quarterback Tavita Pritchard, who is now (2012 ) Defensive Assistant at Stanford University. In the 2009 season, his second college football season, he pushed Pritchard as a starting quarterback and reached with the Stanford Cardinal the Sun Bowl. However, this went against the Oklahoma Sooners with 31 to 27 lost. In the following season, Luck has become one of the best college football quarterbacks of the NCAA and reached with his team the Orange Bowl, which was won with 40 to 12 against the Virginia Tech Hokies. Here, Luck was named man of the match. In his fourth and final season of college Luck played with the Cardinal in the Fiesta Bowl went but lost 38 to 41 against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Nevertheless, Andrew Luck was honored along with Justin Blackmon for offensive MVP.

Draft

In the 2012 NFL Draft Luck was, as has been previously prophesied selected in round one in the first place by the Indianapolis Colts. Once it became clear that they are pod judge Luck, the longtime quarterback Peyton Manning was sacked by the Colts.
