Vincent Paul Young, Jr. ( born May 18, 1983 in Houston, Texas) is an American professional American football player at the position of quarterback. He played for the Tennessee Titans and the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League ( NFL).
College
After a convincing performance in the Rose Bowl for the 2005 season Vince Young was traded by experts as one of the best quarterbacks in the history of college football. Therefore, the Tennessee Titans Young in the NFL Draft selected as a third player in 2006 behind Mario Williams (Houston Texans ) and Reggie Bush ( New Orleans Saints).
NFL
In his first season, Vince Young was nominated as starting quarterback. His strength as a dual- threat quarterback was that he was dangerous both as a passer and as a runner. The performances earned him shown at the end of the 2006 award NFL Rookie of the Year. Due to its popularity, he was pictured on the cover of the prestigious appeared in summer 2007 video game Madden NFL 2008.
In his second season succeeded Young despite a hamstring injury with the team up in the wild card play-offs push forward, though its mileage, especially the yards made per attempt fell substantially below the values of his rookie season.
In 2008, he was injured already in the opening match at the knee and was replaced by Kerry Collins. After his recovery, Young remained in the role of the backup because the offense conducted by Collins could win ten games in a row.
