Andries Kinsbergen

Andries Kinsbergen (born 25 September 1926 in Amsterdam) is a Belgian professor, politician and long-time governor of the province of Antwerp.

Biography

After schooling, he studied law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel ( VUB ) and was after becoming a Doctor of Law from 1951 to 1967 as a lawyer in Antwerp operates. He also worked as a research assistant at the VUB and a lecturer at the Rijkshandelshogeschool in Antwerp from 1959 to 1966.

In 1966 he accepted an appointment as professor of law at the Rijksuniversitair Centrum Antwerpen ( RUCA ), where he worked as a high school teacher until his retirement in 1991.

In addition, he was appointed governor of the province of Antwerp in 1967 and held this position for 26 years to 1993. After retiring from this office he was awarded for his services on 10 September 1993 with the honorary title of Minister of State.
