Andy Linden (racing driver)

Andy Linden (actually Andrew Linden, born April 5, 1922 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, USA, † 10 February 1987 in Torrance, Pennsylvania, United States) was an American race car driver.

Career

Linden served in World War II as a U.S. Marine.

In the period from 1950 to 1957 he drove in 66 races in the AAA / USAC National Series. His best results were four third places in the seasons 1950, 1955 and 1957. 1955 he scored with a fifth place in the overall billing his best performance of the season.

Throughout his career he was also seven times in the 500 miles of Indianapolis at the start. In 1951, he reached the fourth place and thus its best finish in a Silnes - Offenhauser. Since the race counted at this time, to the race of the drivers' world championship of Formula 1, the location of seven Grand Prix starts should be recorded for him.
