Ángel Javier Arizmendi de Lucas ( born March 3, 1984 in Madrid ) is a Spanish footballer who is at Deportivo La Coruña under contract.

Career

Arizmendi comes from the youth Atlético Madrid, for which he played his first league match on 15 February 2004. The following year, he was loaned out to Racing Santander. The first half of the season 2005/ 06 spent Arizmendi again at Atletico, from early 2006 until the summer of 2007 he played for Deportivo La Coruña. Shortly thereafter, he opted for a transfer to FC Valencia in order to increase his chances of international games and applications in the national team. In Valencia, but David Villa and rising young star Juan Mata ran him from the rank and despite regular match practice he scored just one goal in 30 games. As a result, he joined the 2008/09 season the second division Real Zaragoza, where he in 38 games for promotion to the Primera División helped this season with 9 goals. After another season at Zaragoza, Arizmendi moved in summer 2010 to Getafe.

4 August 2011 it was announced that he would go on loan for 1 year in the Switzerland to Neuchâtel Xamax. On January 4, 2012 one day before the departure to the training camp, Arizmendi was sacked along with his three teammates Haris Seferović, Vincent Bikana and Stéphane Besle. The dismissal was based on lack of athletic performance, with a context of discussions about unpaid wages is suspected.

After another year at FC Getafe, he joined in the summer of 2012 the RCD Mallorca on. For the 2013/14 season, the Spaniard returned to Deportivo La Coruna.

For the Spanish national team Arizmendi may experience a decline international duty. In a friendly match in 2007 against England, he was substituted in the 65th minute.
