Angela Steinbach

Angela Steinbach ( born March 31, 1955 in Kleve ) is a German former swimmer who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany. She won an Olympic bronze medal in 1972.

Career

Swimming career

Angela Steinbach started in 1972 for the DSV - school Max Ritter Saarbrücken from 1973 to 1975, she went to for DSW 1912 Darmstadt, then she moved to the SSF Bonn 05

She qualified for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, where he was closing swimmer of the German 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay. In the occupation Jutta Weber, Heidemarie Reineck, Gudrun Beckmann and Angela Steinbach, the squadron won the bronze medal behind the seasons from the United States and the GDR. In 1973, the first World Swimming Championship was held in Belgrade. The freestyle relay won in the same occupation as in Munich bronze behind the German Democratic Republic and the USA. Private career

Angela Steinbach is the sister of the float Klaus Steinbach. She married the swimmer Jürgen Könneker. Their son Robert Könneker is also a successful swimmer.
