Angelika Handt

Angelika towels, married Kahl ( * July 10, 1954 in Radebeul ) is a German athlete who had in the 1970s - starting for the GDR - was a successful 400-meter runner.

At the European Championships in 1974 she won the gold medal in the 4 x 400 - meter relay ( 3:25,2 min, along with Waltraud Dietsch, Ellen Streidt and Brigitte Rohde ). In the 400-meter individual race of the European Championships she finished fifth ( 51.24 s ). In the Indoor Championships the same year, she finished fourth.

Angelika towels competed for the SC Einheit Dresden. In 1974 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. In her playing days, she was 1.70 m tall and 64 kg.
