Anisodus tanguticus

Anisodus tanguticus is a species of the genus Anisodus within the nightshade family (Solanaceae ). The species is widespread in China.

Description

Anisodus tanguticus is a perennial, herbaceous plant, the plant height of 40 to 80 (rarely to 100) cm reached. The roots are strong, they glabrous or hairy stems. The leaves have 1 to 3.5 cm long petioles, the leaf blades are lanceolate, oblong or ovate, they are 8 to 20 cm long and 2.5 to 9 cm wide, thick papery and glabrous or rarely hairy. The leaf margin is entire or grossly one - or bidentate.

The flowers are erect or slightly nodding at 1.5 to 8 (rarely to 11 ) cm long, glabrous or hairy stalks. The calyx is bell-shaped or almost funnel-shaped, 2.5 to 4 cm long and filled with broad triangular, slightly unequal and glabrous lobes, which may be acute or obtuse forward. The crown is purple or dark purple, sometimes pale yellow- green. It is similar in shape to the cup, is 2.5 to 3.8 cm long, so that only the coronary band is above the cup out. The corolla tube is hairy on the outside, the hair increases towards the base to. The Corolla lobe are rounded. The stamens are only half as long as the crown, the stamens are about 0.8 mm long, elongated anthers 5-8 mm. The stylus is 1.2 cm long.

The species is widespread in China and get there before on sunny, grassy slopes. The sites are located in the provinces of Gansu, Qinghai, north-west and south-west of Sichuan, to the east Xizangs and northwestern Yunnan.
