Anisodus

Anisodus luridus

Anisodus is a genus of flowering plants of the nightshade family (Solanaceae ). It consists of four species that are widespread in China.

Description

Vegetative characteristics

The Anisodus species are perennial, herbaceous plants that survive by means of a fleshy, fleshy root. They are ( rarely 0.4 ) from 1 to 1.5 m high, glabrous or hairy fine. The leaf blades of the leaves are ovate, elliptic or broadly lanceolate, 8-15 cm long. They are entire, wavy or serrated irregular.

Flowers

The flowers are individually and nodding in the axils of 1.5 to 8 (11 ) cm long pedicles. The radiärsymmetrische calyx is broadly bell-shaped or urn- shaped light, thick and matted, about 20 to 35 (40 ) mm long, making it as long or slightly longer than the corolla tube. The cup is filled with five irregular calyx teeth, these are short, wider than long, shaped differently and conspicuously streaked with ten ribs. The crown is broadly bell-shaped or bell - urn- shaped, has a length of 20 to 40 ( 45 ) mm, has five equally protean corolla lobes that are much broader than long and thus have 1 /3 to 1 /4 of the length of the corolla tube and auriculate and are bent.

The same polymorphic stamens stand beyond the crown, the anthers are ( 5) 5.5 to 6.5 (7 ) mm long, straight, occupied with short trichomes stamens are up to 1.5 times longer than the anthers and near the the lower edge of the crown is fixed to the latter. The pollen is medium in size with 43.5 to 48.5 microns.

The ovary is conical, the disc-shaped scar, the nectary annular, thick and protruding.

Fruit and seeds

The fruits are Pyxidien, a special form of capsule fruits, these are spherical and only 1/2 to 1/4 as long as the widening, ribbed, 3.5 to 7.5 cm long calyx. The seeds are 3 to 4 mm long, the seed surface is kleingrubig.

Other features

The base chromosome number.

Occurrence

The four species of the genus are found in the mountains of Nepal, India, Bhutan and China, where they grow at altitudes of 2000-4500 m. Two species are found exclusively in China, one species ( A. tanguticus ) in Nepal and China and the most common type Anisodus luridus is found in all four countries.

System

The genus consists of four species:

  • Anisodus acutangulus C.Y. Wu & C. Chen
  • Anisodus carniolicoides (CY Wu & C. Chen ) D' Arcy & Zhang
  • Anisodus luridus link
  • Anisodus tanguticus ( Maxim. ) Pascher

The type species is A. luridus.
