Anita Asante

Anita Amma Asante Ankyewah (* April 27, 1985 in London) is an English football player of Ghanaian descent. The defender is the Swedish association Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC under contract and playing for the English national team.

Asante began her career in 1998 when Arsenal LFC. During the 2003/ 04 season, Asante made ​​his debut in the first team. Between 2004 and 2008, Asante won five championships in a row. There were also four Cup wins and three League Cups. In the 2006/07 season with Arsenal Asante won the UEFA Women 's Cup. For the 2008 season she moved to Chelsea LFC and 2009 Sky Blue FC.

With the English U-19 selection Asante participated in the 2002 World Cup in Canada. On 14 May 2004, she debuted in the English national team in a match against Iceland. Asante participated in both the 2005 European Championships, the 2007 World Championships and at the 2009 European Championship. For the 2011 World Cup she was also nominated.
