Anna Maria Franziska of Saxe-Lauenburg

Anna Maria Franziska of Saxe- Lauenburg (* June 13, 1672 in Neuhaus an der Elbe, † October 15, 1741 in Imperial City ) was a princess of Saxe- Lauenburg and succession by marriage Countess Palatine of Neuburg and Grand Duchess of Tuscany.

Life

Anna Maria Franziska was the eldest surviving daughter of the Duke Julius Franz of Saxe- Lauenburg (1641-1689) from his marriage to Hedwig (1650-1681), daughter of the Count Palatine Christian August of Sulzbach.

After the death of her father, she was together with her younger sister Sibylla Augusta under guardianship of Emperor Leopold I asked. They only inherited the extensive territories of Bohemia her father, including the goods Buschtiehrad, Consonim, Minckwitz, Politz, Ploschkowitz, swaths Schwolino and imperial city. She married his first wife, on October 29, 1690 in Raudnitz Count Palatine Philip William of Neuburg ( 1668-1693 ), who first died aged 25 after three years of marriage.

Her second husband was on July 2, 1697 in Dusseldorf Grand Duke Gian Gastone of Tuscany ( 1671-1737 ). The marriage had been arranged by Anna Maria Franziska's sister Anna Maria Luisa and should the compounds of Tuscany to the Kingdom to further consolidate. The marriage was a complete fiasco. In 1723 she left the church in Politz finish in its present form. Anna Maria Franziska died as the last of the family of the Dukes of Lauenburg and was buried alongside her first husband's side in the parish church of imperial city.
