Anna Quindlen

Anna Quindlen ( born July 8, 1952 in Philadelphia ) is an American journalist and writer.

Life

Anna Quindlen is the daughter of a father and a mother of Irish Italian origin. She attended the High School in South Brunswick (New Jersey) and Barnard College, where she in 1974 with a BA made. She is married to attorney Gerald Krovatin.

It began in 1977 as a reporter in the local section of the New York Times, for which she took responsibility in 1983. For her column Public and Private, which was given to her as one of the first women at the newspaper in 1990, she received the 1992 Pulitzer Prize for Commentary. Your collected newspaper articles came out repeatedly in book form.

Anna Quindlens mother died at age 40 from cancer, because Anna was 19 years old. The subject circled in their first novels published since 1991. She gave to journalism in 1995 and devoted himself exclusively to writing books and the related marketing activities. Between 1999 and 2009 she wrote then again a two-week column in Newsweek. Quindlin has published (as of 2014), seven novels and eight non-fiction and was in both categories on the bestseller list of the New York Times. From her Short Guide to a Happy Life (2000) sold over a million copies.

The literature review provides the conciliatory tone that Quindlen strikes in their plots, in contrast to their fans read critically.

Quindlens novels were also a template for film adaptations.

Among her multiple awards is an honorary doctorate from the Pennsylvania State University in 2007.
