Annals of Mathematics

The Annals of Mathematics, Ann Abbr. Math, (German: Annals of mathematics ), ISSN 0003- 486x, is one of the most important journals of mathematics. The annals are bi-monthly by the Princeton University and the Institute for Advanced Study published.

The first precursor appeared 1874-1883 under the name of The Analyst. In 1884, the first issue under the present name with Ormond Stone of the University of Virginia as the first editor. Between 1899 and 1911, the Annals were published by the Harvard University before she finally found its present home in Princeton. From 1933 comes the Institute for Advanced Study on as co-editor.

The rise of the annals as one of the most respected music of mathematics is closely related to Solomon Lefschetz, who worked from 1928 to 1958 as editor.

The impact factor of the journal was in 2012 was 3.027. In the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge, the magazine ranked Rank 3 of 295 journals in the category under consideration mathematics.
