Anne Louise Hassing

Anne Louise Hassing ( born September 17, 1967 in Horsens, Denmark) is a Danish actress who has won several awards for her film roles with the Danish Bodil Film Award. She received this award in 1999 as best actress in a supporting role for the representation of Susanne in the Dogme film Idiots (1998, directed by Lars von Trier). As early as 1993, she received the Bodil for Best Actress in a Leading Role in Pain of Love (1992, Danish: Kærlighedens Smerte, directed by Nils Malmros ). For this role, she also received the Danish Film Award Robert.

Career and life

Hassing began her acting career with the role of Kirsten Nils Malmros in Pain of Love, a story about an emotionally vulnerable young woman who falls into a deep depression in the course of their relationship with their teacher. Only after this success, they began in 1993 a drama at Denmark's state school for theater and modern dance in Copenhagen ( Statens Teaterskole ), which she completed in 1997. In the same year Lars occupied the role of Susan in his film Anne Louise Hassing idiots with von Trier. It is the role of a gentle woman with a heart of gold, who lives together with her childhood friend Stoffer and a group of her friends in a house in the country.

In the following years, Anne Louise Hassing played in other Danish films such as Klinkevals (1999) and Juliane ( 2000). She learns for her roles in the successful Danish television series, as in the series chronicles (2004-2007), special recognition from critics.

Anne Louise Hassing converted to Buddhism in 1998 and is married to the Danish musician Peter Bright man.
