Anthony Bourdain ( born June 25, 1956 in New York City, NY, USA) is an American chef and author.

Life

The French -born Bourdain, son of a manager of Columbia Records and a journalist from the New York Times, graduated after attending Vassar College in Poughkeepsie (New York) trained as a chef at the renowned Culinary Institute of America. After holding various positions in New York restaurants, he led there, the French restaurant Brasserie Les Halles. Currently is Les Halles by Carlos Llaguno, Bourdain's former sous chef, out. However, the restaurant is called Bourdain explicitly as " chef at large " ( chef- at-large ). Since 2005, he produced a series on American television with the title Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, which are also on German television under the title of Anthony Bourdain - is to see a question of taste. He has also published several books, but they are not cookbooks, but crime novels and factual reports.

In his reports from the American and international culinary scene he indiscreetly describes the background of everyday cooking for strangers. In his novels, they always play in the cooking scene, the work is demystified in the kitchen and shown the world of gastronomy, especially in New York.
